Offlaner Akai:
- Boots: Tough Boots (anti-CC) or Warrior Boots
- Core Items: Cursed Helmet (burn damage), Thunder Belt (burst damage), Guardian Helmet (HP regen)
Jungler Akai:
Ice Hunter’s Rapid Boots
Start your build with the Ice Hunter’s Rapid Boots for the bonus Movement Speed. This will significantly enhance your ability to roam and execute effective ganks.
As for the Retribution, Akai can get the best out of Ice Hunter Retribution as it allows him to steal enemies’ Movement Speed -- making it easier for you to chase down any target who tries to run away.
Cursed Helmet
Once you have boots, the next recommended item for Akai is the Cursed Helmet, a Defensive item that complements Akai’s playstyle really well.
This item increases the user’s HP, Magic Resist, and has a Passive that inflicts additional damage equal to 2% of his max HP to nearby opponents.
By having this item, Akai will be able to do more damage and sustain more damage thanks to the additional HP and Magic Defense.
Guardian Helmet
For the next item, you should consider getting Guardian Helmet for additional max HP and HP regen. This item has a Passive that restores 2.5% HP per second — allowing you to last longer in battles without having to recall to base.
Aside from that, the max HP from Guardian Helmet is very helpful for Akai as his skills scale with his HP. So, Akai will be much harder to take down and can do more damage.
Blade Armor
Next, you can pick Blade Armor to increase Akai’s Defense stats as this item offers additional Physical Armor and Critical Damage Reduction.
Athena Shield
Once you have Blade Armor, you should pick Athena Shield to increase Akai’s Magic Resist and max HP. But that’s not all, Athena Shield also has a Passive that allows Akai to take additional damage -- making it harder to take him down.
Immortality
Immortality is a crucial item for Akai because, in addition to the additional HP and Defense it offers, Immortality also has a Passive called Resurrection, which allows Akai to revive upon death.
General Tips:
- Prioritize maxing out your first skill (Headbutt) for its mobility and crowd control.
- Use your passive to mark enemies for extra damage and shield yourself.
- Use Body Slam to initiate fights and slow down enemies.
- Use Heavy Spin to disrupt enemy formations, knock back enemies, and remove debuffs.
- Adjust your build based on the enemy team composition. Build more defense against heavy hitters and more damage against squishy targets.
- Practice your combos and learn to use Akai's mobility to your advantage.
