Confirmed?! Half-Life 3 & The AI Revolution: Why December 11th Could Change Gaming Forever

An anonymous insider on Reddit claims Half-Life 3 will be announced on December 11th at The Game Awards.
Valve apparently waited for an AI/ML breakthrough to implement ML-powered physics and advanced destruction technology in the game.

While we've been burned by 'hopium' before, the reason why Valve has supposedly waited is what makes this rumor feel different and terrifyingly real.

Understanding the Multiple Factors That Affect Cryptocurrency Prices

The cryptocurrency market is unlike any other financial market highly volatile, dynamic, and influenced by a complex interplay of factors. For investors and enthusiasts alike, grasping what drives crypto prices is essential to making informed decisions. From basic economic principles like supply and demand to the sway of social media, understanding these elements can shed light on why prices swing wildly and what to expect next.

Market Demand and Supply Dynamics

At the core of any asset's price, including cryptocurrencies, lies the fundamental principle of supply and demand. The more people want a particular cryptocurrency and the scarcer its supply, the higher its price tends to be. Spot trading on major exchanges such as Binance offers real-time insight into these dynamics. When buy orders outnumber sell orders, prices rise; when sell pressure dominates, prices fall. This basic mechanism drives the day-to-day movement of Bitcoin, Ethereum, and countless altcoins.

Trading Volume and Price Index Platforms

Trading volume is a key indicator of market activity and liquidity. High volume generally suggests strong interest and can reinforce price trends, while low volume may signal uncertainty or potential volatility. Platforms like CoinMarketCap aggregate trading data from various exchanges to provide public price indexes that reflect the market consensus. These indexes greatly influence trader behavior by offering transparent, up-to-date information on market trends and token valuations.

Market Sentiment: Fear, Greed, and Community Trends

Crypto markets are particularly sensitive to sentiment. Emotions like fear and greed can trigger rapid buying or selling, often amplifying price swings. Social media narratives, Twitter trends, and discussions within communities such as those around Bitcoin or Solana can dramatically shift sentiment overnight. The infamous "fear and greed index" encapsulates these cycles, showing how psychological factors often outweigh pure fundamentals in driving prices.

Regulatory Factors and Government Enforcement

Regulatory developments heavily impact cryptocurrency prices by shaping market confidence and accessibility. Announcements by agencies like the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regarding compliance requirements, enforcement actions, or approvals (such as Bitcoin ETFs) can cause immediate and significant price moves. Investors closely watch global policy decisions because regulations influence the long-term viability and institutional acceptance of digital assets.

Macroeconomic Signals: Inflation, Interest Rates, and Central Banks

Broader economic forces also ripple through the crypto space. Inflation scares, interest rate hikes, or shifts in monetary policy by central banks like the Federal Reserve (FED) can affect investor allocation to cryptocurrencies as alternative stores of value or risk-on assets. For instance, rising inflation may boost demand for Bitcoin as a hedge, while tightening monetary policy might reduce liquidity available for crypto investments.

Technological Upgrades and Network Activity

Blockchain technology is evolving rapidly, and upgrades play a crucial role in shaping crypto valuations. Ethereum’s transition to a proof-of-stake consensus model (Ethereum 2.0), aimed at improving scalability and reducing energy consumption, positively influenced its price and investor sentiment. Similarly, developments within ecosystems like Solana known for high throughput and fast transaction speeds can translate to increased network activity, usage, and, in turn, valuation.

Liquidity and Market Structure

Liquidity how easily an asset can be bought or sold without affecting its price matters significantly. Large holders (whales), market makers, and the depth of order books on exchanges all contribute to liquidity. Stablecoins, which provide a seamless bridge between fiat and crypto, facilitate trading and liquidity. A market with deep liquidity tends to experience less extreme volatility, while thin markets can be prone to sharp price swings caused by single large trades.

Bitcoin Dominance and Its Market Influence

Bitcoin remains the undisputed leader in crypto, often setting the tone for the rest of the market. The concept of “Bitcoin dominance” measures Bitcoin’s market capitalization relative to the entire crypto market. When Bitcoin rallies or experiences downturns, many altcoins tend to follow suit, either riding the wave or reacting inversely depending on investor strategy and sentiment.

Impact of News and Events

News can act as a catalyst for price change. Exchange hacks can erode confidence and trigger sell-offs, while regulatory approvals, partnerships, or large-scale adoption announcements typically boost prices. Economic crises in traditional markets sometimes steer investors toward cryptocurrencies, seen as alternative or uncorrelated assets, further driving price moves.

Crypto Adoption and Influential Figures

Growing acceptance of cryptocurrencies from retail adoption to institutional buy-in influences demand. Public interest spikes can arise from endorsements or statements by notable figures such as Elon Musk, whose tweets have previously led to swift price surges or drops. This highlights the crypto market’s sensitivity to influential voices beyond traditional financial metrics.

Speculation, Futures Trading, and Leverage

Speculation forms a major part of the crypto landscape. The presence of futures contracts, leverage trading, and variable funding rates introduces additional volatility. Traders’ positions can amplify price moves, and liquidations of leveraged trades in particular can cascade into dramatic price swings, beyond what spot market fundamentals might suggest.

Tokenomics: Design and Supply Mechanics

Tokenomics the economic model of a cryptocurrency affects price sustainability. Mechanisms like token burning (reducing supply), staking rewards (incentivizing holding), and the release schedule of circulating supply influence scarcity and investor behavior. For example, Bitcoin’s capped supply of 21 million coins is a foundational aspect of its value proposition.

External Risks: Geopolitical and Economic Factors

Finally, broader external risks such as geopolitical tensions, instability in the banking system, or changes in energy prices (especially relevant for proof-of-work mining) can lead to uncertainty. These factors add layers of risk and unpredictability, often impacting crypto markets in tandem with traditional financial assets.

Summary of Key Cryptocurrency Price Factors

  • Market Demand and Supply: Spot trading dynamics on exchanges like Binance
  • Trading Volume and Price Indexes: Data from platforms like CoinMarketCap
  • Market Sentiment: Fear/greed cycles and social media narratives
  • Regulation: Policy changes and enforcement by agencies such as the SEC
  • Macroeconomic Signals: Inflation, interest rates, FED decisions
  • Technological Development: Blockchain upgrades and network activity (Ethereum, Solana)
  • Liquidity and Market Structure: Whales, market makers, order book depth, stablecoin circulation
  • Bitcoin Dominance: Bitcoin’s influence on altcoins and overall market trends
  • News and Events: Hacks, ETF approvals, partnerships, economic crises
  • Crypto Adoption and Influencers: Public interest and endorsements (e.g., Elon Musk)
  • Speculation and Leverage: Futures trading, leverage, funding rates
  • Tokenomics: Burning, staking, circulating supply schedules
  • External Risks: Geopolitical tensions, banking stress, energy costs

Conclusion

Cryptocurrency prices are shaped by a multifaceted blend of forces, making the market extraordinarily volatile and complex. Understanding these factors ranging from fundamental supply-demand mechanics to the intangibles of sentiment and regulation helps investors navigate this fast-evolving space with greater confidence. Ultimately, the crypto market’s unique blend of innovation, speculation, and external influence ensures its price behavior will remain as dynamic as the technology behind it.

Bitcoin is under pressure again, dropping more than 4%

Bitcoin is under pressure again, dropping more than 4% after failing to break above the $90K region for a second time. The RSI remains below 40, signaling continued weakness in momentum, and the latest daily move suggests sellers still dominate the tape.

If BTC can’t reclaim the short-term trend zone soon, we could see a retest of the November lows.

Solana’s Sudden Price Dip: From $140 to $126 Overnight

In the fast-moving world of cryptocurrency, surprises are the norm rather than the exception. The recent overnight drop in Solana’s price, falling sharply from $140 to $126 per coin, has caught many investors and enthusiasts off guard. This 10% decline in just a few hours raises questions about the underlying causes and what it might mean for this popular digital asset moving forward.

What Happened?

Solana, known for its high-speed blockchain technology and growing ecosystem, experienced a notable price correction that wiped out a significant portion of its recent gains. While $126 remains a substantial valuation compared to many other coins, the sudden dip invites closer scrutiny.

Such rapid declines can stem from various factors: macroeconomic shifts, market sentiment swings, profit-taking from short-term traders, or even technical glitches within the network or exchanges. At times, a burst of selling pressure whether triggered by news or algorithmic trading can accelerate declines in a self-reinforcing cycle.

The Emotional Ripple

For holders of Solana, a sudden drop like this inevitably sparks concern and sometimes doubt. Seeing a trusted investment lose nearly 10% in hours can trigger a wave of emotions uncertainty, frustration, or even fear. Yet, it’s important to remember that volatility is baked into the crypto market’s DNA. Price swings can be intense, but they also create opportunities for those who navigate them thoughtfully.

What Could This Mean for Solana?

This pullback could be a moment of recalibration. It might signal a short-term correction after a period of rapid price appreciation. For long-term believers, such dips often represent more approachable entry points, offering a chance to increase holdings at favorable levels.

Solana’s strong fundamentals the scalability of its blockchain, the innovative DeFi and NFT projects on its platform, and a vibrant community continue to underpin its potential. Price movements, while anxiety-inducing in the short run, don’t erase the advancements and value-building happening behind the scenes.

Looking Ahead

Investors should approach this volatility with both caution and perspective. Keeping an eye on broader market trends, upcoming Solana network developments, and the overall crypto landscape will help in understanding whether this dip is an isolated incident or part of a larger shift.

Ultimately, price fluctuations like this highlight the importance of informed decision-making and emotional resilience. In a market defined by rapid change, staying grounded and focused on the bigger picture is key.

Solana’s overnight drop is a reminder that while the crypto journey is thrilling, it’s also unpredictable. Embracing both the risks and rewards with clarity can make all the difference in navigating what lies ahead.

Ireland outplay Bangladesh to take early T20I series lead

Ireland seized the opening T20I with a big 39-run win over Bangladesh on Thursday night in Chattogram.

Ireland successfully defended 181 with discipline and composure as the hosts faltered in a chase that never settled.

Towhid Hridoy hit 83 not-out for Bangladesh, but other batters failed to cope up.

Asked to bat first, Ireland delivered a polished performance built around Harry Tector’s assured 69* off 45 balls—a knock of clean timing and smart acceleration.

Tim Tector’s brisk 32 and a late surge from Curtis Campher and George Dockrell lifted Ireland to 181 for four, a total that always felt above par on a surface offering just enough grip for smart bowling.

Bangladesh’s response unraveled almost immediately.

The top order collapsed to 5 for 4 inside the first six overs, with Mark Adair and Barry McCarthy dismantling the hosts’ batters.

Matthew Humphreys then took control, producing a career-best 4 for 13. His spell broke the middle order and kept Bangladesh on the back foot throughout.

Only Towhid Hridoy mounted meaningful resistance. The right-hander struck an inventive and assured 83* off 50 balls, carrying the innings alone while wickets tumbled around him.

Jaker Ali chipped in with 20, but the asking rate grew steadily beyond reach.

Bangladesh eventually closed on 142 for nine, well short of the target. Humphreys was named Player of the Match for his decisive spell.

How the Role System Affects Solo Queue Players

The "Role System" which includes the lane assignments (EXP, Gold, Mid, Jungle, Roam) and the warning messages for staying in your assigned area, creates a double-edged sword for solo players:

1. Increased Predictability and Team Composition

  • Positive Effect: The system enforces a standard 1-3-1 composition (1 EXP, 1 Gold, 1 Mid, 1 Jungler, 1 Roamer). For a solo player, this is good because it ensures your team at least attempts to have a balanced composition. You are less likely to end up with a team of four Marksmen or no Jungler.
  • Negative Effect (For One-Tricks): If you are a player who is only proficient in one role (a "one-trick"), you are often forced into roles you are uncomfortable with due to the pre-selection system or other players locking your preferred role. This leads to underperformance and frustration.

2. Required Versatility and "Filling"

  • The Adjuster's Burden: In Solo Queue, the team still often needs someone to "fill" the least popular roles, which are typically Roam (Tank/Support) or, to a lesser extent, EXP Lane (Fighter/Tank). A solo player who can master these roles and "adjust" for the team is often the linchpin that prevents a bad draft.
  • Pressure to Perform: Because you are assigned a role, the expectation to perform the specific duties of that role is higher. The warning is a direct enforcement of this. If you don't farm your lane correctly or you roam too much as a Gold Laner, you can be penalized or blamed, which can make the solo queue experience more toxic.

3. Focus on Macro vs. Micro Play

  • Macro is King: The structured roles emphasize macro-play (map awareness, rotation, objective control—like taking Lord/Turtle, and pushing turrets) over micro-play (mechanical skill with a single hero).
  • Jungler: Must focus on objective control (Retribution timing).
  • Roamer: Must focus on vision, initiation, and protecting carries.
  • Mid Laner: Must focus on fast wave clear and rotations.
  • Result for Solo Q: A solo player who understands these macro duties (even in a non-carry role like Roam) has a much higher win rate than a player who is purely focused on getting kills, regardless of their KDA.

The Turning Point: Mandatory Role and Gold/EXP Lane Separation

The "turning point" for Solo Queue, which solidified the need for the Role System and changed the meta, was the major update that introduced:

1. Dedicated Lanes (Gold Lane and EXP Lane)

  • The separation of the side lanes into Gold Lane (for Marksmen/Carries who need gold fast) and EXP Lane (for Fighters/Utility heroes who need levels fast) created a mandatory team structure.
  • The old system allowed for dual-laning or heroes to simply go where they felt like it, leading to uncoordinated chaos.
  • The new system provides a clear purpose and resource distribution for 5 heroes, making disorganized play far less effective against a team that follows the structure.

2. The Retribution Spell Lock and Jungler Enforcement

The most significant change tied to the warning message you saw was the rule that only the hero with the Retribution battle spell could effectively take jungle camps and objectives (like Turtle and Lord).

  • Before: Anyone could take the jungle, leading to teammates "stealing" the Jungler's resources and stalling their growth.
  • After: By linking the Jungler role to the Retribution spell, the game forces one player to commit to the jungle. The system then punishes that player (via the warning message) if they spend too much time in a lane and neglect their core duty of farming jungle monsters. This single change professionalized the Jungler role and made it the most vital role for objective control.

In summary, the turning point was the patch that made the 5-role structure mandatory for winning. It shifted the game's focus from "who has the best mechanics" to "which team follows the optimal resource distribution and objective strategy."

Cloudflare Global Outage Explained: Config Change Causes 500 Errors Across the Internet

Cloudflare experienced a global outage impacting services and websites reliant on its network infrastructure, including major platforms like X, Gemini, Perplexity, Discord etc.
The outage was triggered by a configuration change during a resilience upgrade project at 19 of Cloudflare’s data centers, which together handle a significant portion of global internet traffic. This caused widespread '500 Internal Server Error' messages and temporary service disruptions.
The root cause was linked to internal infrastructure updates rather than attacks or malicious activity. Cloudflare swiftly identified the issue and restored services within about an hour by rolling back the problematic changes.

How MLBB’s New Role System Is Ruining the Solo Player Experience

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) is a 5v5 multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game where two teams fight to destroy each other’s base.

  • You choose a hero (tank, fighter, assassin, mage, marksman, or support).
  • Each match lasts around 10–15 minutes.
  • You farm gold, level up, buy items, and work with your team to push lanes.
  • The goal is to destroy the enemy’s base while defending your own.
  • It’s fast-paced, team-based, and one of the most popular mobile esports games worldwide.

However, in the last two seasons, there has been one major issue. In Seasons 37 and 38, MLBB added a system where players must select their roles in advance. The problem is that solo players are forced to choose two roles in order to queue, even if they only want to play their main role.

Before this system, players could show their seasonal or overall win rate, and teams could decide roles based on performance. But now, because of this new system, some players pick roles they are not comfortable with. For example, marksman players end up playing both mid lane and gold lane.

For solo players, this change feels pointless. What is the purpose of selecting a secondary role you don’t want to play? A jungle main may only want to play jungle, yet the game forces them to also queue for EXP lane.

I really don’t understand how, after so many days 120 days as I’m writing this the developers still don’t realize that players do not want to select more than one role.

If they insist on keeping this system, then at least match solo players only with other solo players, not with duos or trios. If nothing changes, the statistics and player base will continue to drop. This is a problem mainly for players who play seriously and want to win, casual players simply don’t care.

If the developers priority is only skins and revenue, then they should be honest and say
“We only care about the money. If you aren’t satisfied with these changes, play another game.” At least that would be fair.

Right now, it feels like an entire region Europe is collapsing. There’s no activity, no tournaments, no support. Everything is focused on Asia. The top players are pushed to become more famous, and that’s the whole industry. There’s nothing innovative things are done just for the sake of existing.

New Open-Source Adapter Could Enable NVMe SSD Support via MicroSD Express

Developers are currently working on an open-source hardware and software solution designed to convert the signal used by MicroSD Express into a format compatible with NVMe SSDs. This would make it possible to connect and operate an NVMe drive through a MicroSD Express interface, potentially opening the door for faster storage options on devices that normally rely on microSD cards.
The entire project is fully open-source, allowing anyone to study the design, contribute improvements, or adapt the technology for their own experiments and devices.

Github repository can be found here: https://github.com/NVNTLabs/switch2-SDEX2M2

Info from their Github Readme

SDEX2M2 (MicroSD Express to M2) is an adapter for the Nintendo Switch 2 which converts the MicroSD Express slot to a NVME M.2 (M-Key) slot. Think MicroSD Express cards are difficult to find or expensive? Looking to expand your storage for cheaper? Just use the NVME M.2 SSD that you have, and/or can easily find! The project is open source hardware under the GPLv3 License.

This project also encompasses the sister-project of "MicroSD Express to SD Express" adapter, which is a pin-to-pin conversion kit allowing full size SD Express cards to be used on the Nintendo Switch 2.

How is this possible?

This is possible because the Nintendo Switch 2's MicroSD Express slot supports the SD Express 7.1 standard, which exposes a true PCIe Gen3 x1 interface and utilizes the NVMe protocol for communication.

This adapter simply maps PCIe x1 from the Switch 2’s MicroSD Express slot to a standard M.2 2230 NVMe SSD. After further research and review from users, an onboard mcu/fpga will be required for the handshake process with the Switch 2.

Currently, we've developed a sniffer board which will be used to facilitate this.

Status

Work in progress. Currently, a prototype with handshake capability with the Switch 2 and also designs for the final product design are being worked on.

An early proof of concept prototype of the SDEX2M2 MicroSD Express to NVMe M.2 SSD Adapter has been made, but it does lack Switch 2 compatibility.

For prototyping, a new MicroSD Express sniffer has been uploaded which is used for capturing the signal/handshake that the Nintendo Switch 2 uses for communicating with the MicroSD Express card. With this, we are one step closer to our goal!

Additionally, production-ready 2-layer PCBs for the MicroSD Express breakout board, NVMe breakout board, and the MicroSD Express to FPC Connector (which may be used in the final design) have been uploaded.

The MicroSD Express to SD Express adapter production ready prototype board has been uploaded as well, for users with full-size SD Express cards.

Basic 3D printable shells have been added too, for convenience.

TheDarkShamans (TDS) – The Rise, The Fall, and The Rise Again

TheDarkShamans: From Shadows to Stardom and Back Again

There’s something unmistakably magnetic about stories of resurrection not just in life, but in the fierce world of esports. This week, let’s dive deep into one such tale: the rise, fall, and explosive rebirth of TheDarkShamans (TDS), a Balkan Mobile Legends squad that’s as much a symbol as a team. Whether you’re a hardcore MLBB fan or just curious about the vibrant esports scene in Eastern Europe, this journey is packed with passion, drama, and resilience.

From Humble Beginnings to a Balkan Force

Our story starts in the twilight of 2019. MMMK, a trio forged by ambition of DON ACIC, DON DANCIC, and MGMK dreamed of ruling the Balkan Mobile Legends scene. Like many hopefuls, they faced fierce competition and the challenge of building a reliable team. Chemistry took time, but the greatest hurdle was simply survival in a competitive environment where loyalty was scarce.

Everything changed when a player named Djovani_221 entered the picture. His gameplay, especially with Fanny, was nothing short of mesmerizing. From rivals to allies, Djovani and MGMK pushed forward with relentless training. In late 2020, the seeds of something bigger were planted.

The Birth of the Dark Shamans

December 20th, 2020, was a turning point. Djovani introduced the name that would echo among Balkan MLBB fans for years: TheDarkShamans. That night, he crafted their emblem, a symbol destined to become iconic. Early 2021 saw the official formation of TDS, but as with many young teams, internal clashes and egos threatened to break them apart.

Criticism around content creation distractions almost tore the team asunder. Players left, but Djovani and MGMK remained. Soon after, fresh recruits joined, forging bonds in fire: DON ACIC returned, along with RetributioN, Baki, DareDevil, Domacin, Vidikovac, Skipper, Dimitar15k, and Dexter. Together, they sparked a golden era between May and July 2021.

  • May 1: First MCL win.

  • May 8: Victory followed swiftly.

  • May 29: Another triumphant moment.

TDS was unstoppable, climbing high and capturing the hearts of fans. By July, they stormed the Balkan Tournament, finishing a close second to Cyberwolves Platinum a loss that fueled their hunger rather than extinguishing it.

Defeat, Silence, and the Weight of Shadows

The inevitable rematch was devastating: a rapid six-minute defeat that stunned the community and plunged fans into silence and heartbreak. Many couldn’t watch their heroes crumble. But true warriors don’t disappear into the darkness.

Although TDS regrouped, internal strife deepened. By August 2021, the squad disbanded, leaving behind only whispers and memories. Yet their name endured beyond the Balkans, inspiring teams in the Philippines and Indonesia, planting seeds of legacy across Asia.

2024: Lights Flicker, Then Blaze

For three years, TDS lay dormant quiet but not forgotten. The spark reignited early in 2024 when Skipper launched a new Mobile Legends Discord server. Slowly, old allies reappeared, members returned, and a phone call was made to destiny.

November 2024 saw a quiet but undeniable rebirth. MGMK and Hawkeye returned with new vigor. A viral video, 5v5 challenges, and fierce scrims signaled the end of the silence. TheDarkShamans were back.

The New Dawn: Legacy Reborn

With their comeback in December 2024 and January 2025, TDS swept scrims clean, electrifying fans. Clips of Hawkeye, Xin, and Terazoid zoomed around YouTube, stoking excitement throughout the Balkan MLBB scene. Their mark was clear: legends don’t just fade, they evolve.

By early 2025, with the original heroes stepping back into mentorship roles, TDS transitioned from a mere team into a movement. Their story is a testament to grit, camaraderie, and the undying spirit of competition.

Because when one Shaman stands, theDarkShamans never truly fall.

Looking Ahead

What’s next for TDS? The competition sharpens, new rivalries take form, and fresh faces rise to the challenge. But the heart of the squad beats with those who built it mentors guiding the next generation toward glory.

Thanks for joining me on this rollercoaster of TheDarkShamans journey. Remember every legend needs a little space to rest, Before they emerge again.
